According to Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Martin Satriano. The Inter Milan youngster is apparently available this summer due to the club’s financial woes. It has already put a number of Premier League clubs on red alert, with Spurs set to face stiff competition from London rivals Arsenal, West Ham while Everton are also interested in the services of the forward.
Who Is Martin Satriano?
A product of the Nacional youth academy in his native Uruguay, Martin Satriano joined Inter in January 2020 for a fee of €2.4 million. Since then, he has enjoyed healthy growth, becoming a key asset for Inter’s U-19 side.
Indeed, the forward netted 12 goals in 27 matches while chipping in with five assists. His incredible performances in the Primavera had earned him the opportunity to train with Inter’s first team on many occasions.
Although Satriano is yet to make his professional debut with the Nerazzurri, he is expected to be promoted to the senior side in the upcoming campaign. The youngster has already impressed the onlookers with his powerful presence in the final third, which has combined well with his goalscoring prowess.
What makes the 20-year-old a class apart from other strikers of his age is the imposing 1.87m frame that lets him bulldoze his way across the opposition defence. It also gives him a considerable advantage in aerial duels – making him a lethal option upfront for Nuno.
One For The Future?
There is no secret that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for life without Harry Kane next season. Their struggles without the English frontman have been well-documented in the past, so the addition of a proper centre-forward should be a priority for Nuno Espirito Santo as Spurs look to rebuild from scratch.
Martin Satriano is no such immediate replacement for Kane, but the youngster could be an interesting target for Tottenham. As mentioned earlier, the forward has shown a lot of promise with his performances in Primavera.
The Uruguayan international has the physique that is ideal in the Premier League, as he can shrug off opposing defenders quite easily. He is quite energetic in the final third as well, potentially making him a useful outlet in the first line of press.
One glaring weakness could be Satriano’s lack of experience at the highest level of football. Tottenham Hotspur haven’t had much success in nurturing any young players either, so a move to north London might not be the best option for the youngster at the moment.
For the club, however, Satriano has everything in his locker to become a long-term replacement. And at the age of just 20, he could indeed be a smart long-term investment, provided they can give him the opportunity to prosper.
