Sarabia Gets 9, Morata With 4 | Spain Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Slovakia

Spain locked horns with Slovakia at Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla earlier this evening, hoping to pick up a win on Matchday 3 of the Euro 2020 campaign. The hosts ran riot against the Slovakia defence tonight as Aymeric Laporte, Pablo Sarabia, and Ferran Torres got their names on the scoresheet. Martin Dubravka and Juraj Kucka further scored an own goal each to hand over Spain a rampant 5-0 victory.

Let’s take a look at how each Spanish player fared during the clash against Slovakia.

Unai Simon 7

The Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper hardly had anything to do between the sticks as Slovakia failed to get a single shot on target over the course of the game. He was merely a spectator tonight.

Cesar Apilicueta 7

The Chelsea defender was mostly limited to duties in his own half of the pitch, but he made some good sprints down the right flank.

Aymeric Laporte 8

The Manchester City centre-half doubled his side’s lead just before the halftime whistle.

Eric Garcia 7

Garcia made some crunching tackles to prevent the opposition frontmen from penetrating the defence. He put up a commanding display alongside Aymeric Laporte and secured a well-deserved clean sheet.

Jordi Alba 8

The Barcelona left-back got himself the assist for Pablo Sarabia’s goal in the 56th minute.

Koke 7.5

Won a crucial penalty for his side in the opening stages of the match. He fared well at the centre of the park as he controlled the tempo of the game, but we have seen better performances from the Atletico Madrid man.

Pedri 7

The 18-year-old could get past his markers and carry the ball upfield with little to no effort, which made things easier for his teammates.

Sergio Busquets 7

Busquets shielded the ball effectively at the centre of the park and made important challenges time and again to stop the Slovakia counterattacks.

Pablo Sarabia 9

The Paris Saint-Germain star was Spain’s best player on the pitch by far tonight. He created all sorts of menace for the Slovakia defenders on the right flank as he got himself a goal and an assist over the course of the game. In fact, it was his effort that led to the first goal of the game.

Gerard Moreno 6.5

He set up a brilliant chance for Aymeric Laporte, which was eventually converted.

Alvaro Morata 4

The Juventus striker lived up to his reputation in front of the goal as he missed a penalty around the 10-minute-mark.
