The Three Lions will be coming into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Croatia, whereas Steve Clarke’s men recorded a 2-0 loss against the Czech Republic in their first game of the Euro 2020.
Gareth Southgate will probably opt for the 4-3-3 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game. Jordan Pickford is expected to start in goal for the upcoming home encounter. The Everton shot-stopper would be looking to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Friday.
John Stones will continue to form the centre-half partnership with Tyrone Mings at the heart of England’s backline.
Kyle Walker is a guaranteed starter at the right-back position, whereas Ben Chilwell is expected to replace Kieran Trippier on the other flank as the left-back. The duo would be expected to stay compact and keep their shape defensively.
Luke Shaw will have to settle for a place on the bench but could be brought on in the latter stages of the game if needed.
Midfield
