In a recent report, Gianluca di Marzio has stated that Chelsea have tabled a €60m bid for Inter Milan wide player Achraf Hakimi this summer. It is understood that the Blues will face competition in the form of Paris Saint-Germain in pursuit of the Morocco international (via Gianluca di Marzio).
Hakimi’s Outstanding Form At San Siro Last Season
Hakimi experienced a brilliant campaign at Milan as he produced a run of consistent displays for the Italian giants down the right flank. The 22-year-old registered seven goals and 11 assists in 45 matches for his current club last season on all fronts.
The Madrid-born sensation has influenced the game at both ends of the field by averaging 1.5 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.0 shots, 1.0 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. The Moroccan talent has even been excellent when distributing possession from the right-wing, based on his pass completion rate of 84.2% in both those competitions (stats via whoscored).
Hakimi is currently playing some of the best football of his young career and seems to be maturing into a top talent at San Siro. Maybe he might be tempted with the opportunity to join the reigning European champions this summer as he will be able to challenge for some major silverware over the next few seasons.
What Will Hakimi Add To Thomas Tuchel’s Side?
Hakimi is one of the quickest players in Serie A and can make some promising runs out on the wide areas. He is a hard-working wide player who can operate in both full-back positions or as a winger down the right flank.
The 31-time Morocco international can create some meaningful openings for others around him and is a good passer of the ball. He deserves a lot of credit for adding a lot of goals and assists to his game over the past couple of seasons.
At 22, Hakimi is only going to get better with each season, so Thomas Tuchel should consider adding him to his match-day squad before the start of the new campaign. He will undeniably be an upgrade over Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi for the right wing-back position in Tuchel’s first team.
We can expect Hakimi to add plenty of quality to the Blues starting XI for the coming seasons. Furthermore, he has all the skillset required to become a fan-favorite at Stamford Bridge in the years to come. All in all, the West London outfit should think about going all out to secure the services of the versatile playmaker during this summer transfer window.
