Defensa Central has recently reported that Real Madrid could make an attempt to sign Borussia Monchengladbach playmaker Florian Neuhaus this summer. It has been revealed that Los Blancos boss Carlo Ancelotti wanted to recruit the German midfielder during his time at Everton and could go back in for him in the hopes of bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium during this summer transfer window (via Defensa Central).
Neuhaus’ Impressive Form At Borussia-Park
It has been a decent season for Neuhaus as he managed to catch the eye with his performances at the heart of the Monchengladbach midfield. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net eight times and grabbed eight assists in 45 matches for the German outfit last season across all competitions.
The German midfield ace was a delight to watch in Europe where he averaged 3.0 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.0 clearances, 1.3 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per game in the UEFA Champions League this season. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 85.6% in European football (stats via whoscored).
Neuhaus is a player on the rise who will only mature as a footballer in the coming seasons, so Los Blancos would be wise to move in for him in this off-season as he will be an excellent addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the long run.
Will Neuhaus Be The Right Fit For Los Blancos?
Neuhaus is a tireless worker at the centre of the park and can do a bit of everything for the benefit of his team. He is a decent tackler of the ball and can make some crucial interceptions in midfield. The German sensation doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed and is a good passer of the ball. He has added some goals and assists to his game recently and seems to have what it takes to be a future star in European football.
Neuhaus can also strike the ball with power and precision from long range. He is proficient at completing a few energetic dribbles in the opposition half which has made him such a valuable member of Marco Rose’s squad.
Ancelotti will do well to convince the player to make a switch to the Spanish capital as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what the Italian tactician looks for in his midfielders. His acquisition would go a long way in bringing down the average age of Los Blancos’ midfield department. Plus, the German has enough quality to grow into a real gem at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium under the watchful eyes of Ancelotti. With all things considered, Neuhaus will be a great fit for the Madrid giants ahead of the new campaign and could even help them reclaim the La Liga title next season.
