We are back with our weekly Fantasy Premier League article as we try to scourge the market to come out with players we feel are best placed to shower us with precious points whilst adhering to our tight budget.
The first 13 game weeks have flown by in the blink of an eye and while some are sitting smugly on top of their private leagues, there are many who will be hoping for points from almost anywhere.
Let us take a look at 4 players from each position and hope we can continue our success rate!
GOALKEEPER
LEE GRANT (4.1) – STOKE CITY
While there are concerns that the regular no.1 Jack Butland, last weekend’s clean sheet gives us confidence that Grant is going to preserve his spot in the first team. Stoke are facing a Burnley team who have been goal shy on the road and have notched just once on their travels.
DEFENDER
GARETH McAULEY (4.8) – WEST BROMWICH ALBION
The Baggies centre-back has been brilliant from an attacking point of view. He already has 3 goals this season and after the headed goal against Hull City last week is on top of our list. His favourable price makes him an attractive option and aided by the fact that only Bournemouth and Watford have conceded more headed attempts than the Hornets makes him even more enticing.
MIDFIELD
ALEXIS SANCHEZ (13.1) – ARSENAL
With a considerable amount of amount saved up on our goalkeeper and defenders pick, we are inclined to go on a binge buy with Arsenal’s makeshift centre-forward Alexis Sanchez in the No.1 spot.
The Chilean has looked at ease in his new, productive role and with doubts over Giroud’s starting spot due to fitness and tactics, he is set to continue. Sanchez will be facing a Bournemouth and with Chelsea and City facing each other, seems to be an obvious choice. The 23.6% owned Chilean has scored five of his eight goals on the road, while the Hammers have conceded nine times in front of their own fans.
ATTACK
HARRY KANE (10.9) – TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero will be facing each other and with Harry Kane providing such an obvious option made us sway from the usual big-hitters for a change.
Kane seems to be getting back into the groove and with a Swansea City side who conceded 4 times last weekend against Crystal Palace side, is backed for the Captain’s armband.
