Everton will entertain Sheffield United at Goodison Park on Sunday evening as they hope to earn maximum points at home. The Toffees were held to a scoreless draw by Aston Villa earlier this week, so they will be desperate to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
Carlo Ancelotti will opt for a 3-5-2 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first team for this game. Alex Iwobi could get a start down the right flank while Seamus Coleman gets a rest on the bench. The Toffees boss will be sweating on the fitness of James Rodriguez, who is a major doubt for this clash.
3-5-2 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Sheffield United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will feature in between the sticks for the Merseysiders after securing a clean sheet in his last league outing. Ben Godfrey will partner up with Michael Keane at the centre of the Everton backline as they look to keep things solid at the back this weekend.
Mason Holgate will function as the right-back while Lucas Digne looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Ancelotti will give both of them the license to express themselves in the Blades half and create some decent chances in the final third.
Seamus Coleman and Niels Nkounkou will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the full-back positions.
Midfield
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will anchor the Toffees midfield as they try to establish their superiority at the centre of the park. The dynamic duo will also have to orchestrate some inviting chances in the final third.
Alex Iwobi might get a chance to catch the eye down the right-wing while Gylfi Sigurdsson fills in on the other flank as a makeshift left-sided wide player. They will both be responsible for getting to the byline and whipping in a few decent crosses into the opposition penalty box.
Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes and Tom Davies will have to be content with a spot on the bench but might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will once again lead the charge alongside Richarlison up top. Both of them shot blanks versus the Villans in midweek, so this weekend could be a good chance for them to bang in some goals and end the season strong in the Premier League.
Joshua King will make up the numbers on the bench as he waits for his opportunity to impress in the latter stages if Ancelotti calls upon his services.
