Everton took on West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a win on their travels in the Premier League. The Toffees made a strong start to the game and took the lead in the 24th minute courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who scored with a clinical finish. The Merseyside outfit did enough to get into the half-time break with a one-goal lead.
Both sides cancelled each other out in the second half as the contest finished 1-0 in favour of Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
Let’s take a look at how each Everton player performed during the match against the Hammers.
GK: Jordan Pickford – 6.5/10
The English keeper was a bit untidy when passing the ball out from the back. He did not have a save to make in the game and secured an easy clean sheet on the road.
RB: Seamus Coleman – 7.5/10
He kept a good defensive shape at the back and made a couple of crucial clearances during the game.
CB: Ben Godfrey – 8/10
Godfrey cleared his lines when needed and was strong in the air. He did enough to restrict the Hammers from finding the back of the net throughout the 90 minutes.
CB: Yerry Mina – 7/10
Mina passed the ball well and pulled off multiple clearances for his side. He blocked a couple of shots as well but was replaced after the hour mark.
CB: Michael Keane – 7/10
The English defender commanded his backline well and was dominant in the air. He cleared the danger when required and secured an impressive clean sheet today.
LB: Lucas Digne – 7/10
The French full-back performed his defensive duties well and made a few promising runs down the left flank.
CM: Allan – 7/10
Allan disrupted the opposition’s rhythm by getting stuck in with a few tackles in midfield. He completed two good dribbles but offered very little in the final third.
CM: Tom Davies – 6.5/10
He worked his socks off but struggled to get a foothold in the game.
CM: Gylfi Sigurdsson – 7/10
The Icelandic international did well to protect his backline and was lively in the West Ham half as well.
ST: Richarlison – 7.5/10
The Brazilian attacker caused a few problems for the Hammers centre-halves and made some dangerous runs in the final third. However, there was no goal for him today.
ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 8/10
The English centre-forward was a constant nuisance for the opposition and orchestrated several openings for others around him. He scored with a clinical finish in the 24th minute.
Substitutes:
CB: Mason Holgate – 6/10
He did well to see out the game with the clean sheet intact.
ST: Joshua King – N/A
King hardly had any time to influence the game.
CM: Fabian Delph – N/A
He came on to run the clock down for Everton.
