This will be the third season of Mauricio Pochettino in charge of Tottenham Hotspur. The Argentine has done a remarkable job at White Hart Lane over the last two seasons and in his second season, his impact was pretty much showing. Spurs absolutely dominated the Premier League and were the only side that stood in Leicester City’s way of achieving the impossible. Yeah, they bottled it in the last four game weeks and lost even the runners-up place to none other than their bitter rivals Arsenal but Spurs fans have every right to be optimistic about their chances this season.
Spurs are in the Champions League this season and will start the campaign as one of the favourites for the title. Pochettino has bolstered his squad with two impressive signings in the form of Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama. Yeah, the Lilywhites did not really storm the market but they did their shopping as per their needs. Probably one or two additions could still be on the cards before the window slams closed.

Ben Davies
The Welshman is likely to deputise Danny Rose in the left-back position this season. With Spurs playing in four competitions, there will be plenty of rotation and Davies will get his chance to shine. The 23-year-old played as a centre-back for Wales in their brilliant Euro Cup run and his versatility could be called into action due to Spurs lacking the fourth-choice centre-back behind Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Wimmer.
Heung-Min Son
The 24-year-old made his move to White Hart Lane last summer from Bayer Leverkusen and it would not be fair to say that he did not make an impact. The versatile forward was used by Pochettino in a number of positions across the attacking third and the South Korean contributed with eight goals and five assists from 40 games. Even though Son’s place in the starting XI is not guaranteed week in week out, but he could still be a player who can make the difference in crunch games.
Vincent Janssen
Spurs finally offered Harry Kane a helping hand in attack with Vincent Janssen who made his name in Eredivisie last season winning the Golden Boot. The Dutchman gives a whole new dimension to Spurs’ attack and more importantly he gives Kane some breathing space. The burden of scoring goals won’t be solely on the English international now thanks to the 22-year-old who himself is a goal machine if we go by the recent season.
