Arsenal will welcome Everton at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night as they try to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Gunners could only manage to grind out a 1-1 draw against Fulham last weekend, so they will be eager to produce a much-improved display versus the Toffees later this week.
Mikel Arteta could choose to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first XI for this game. Bernd Leno, Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah will probably be involved in Arteta’s first team as the Spaniard looks to freshen up his options for this league clash at the English capital.
4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Everton
Defence
Bernd Leno could resume his duties in between the sticks for the North London giants after being rested against the Cottagers last weekend. Gabriel will resume his defensive partnership with Rob Holding at the heart of the Arsenal backline as they look to neutralize the threat of Everton’s Richarlison during the game.
Hector Bellerin will operate as the right-back while Granit Xhaka fills in on the other side as a makeshift left-back. Arteta will ask both of them to maintain a solid defensive shape so that they can keep the Toffees frustrated on Friday night.
Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Thomas Partey will anchor the midfield alongside Dani Ceballos as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The dynamic trio of Gabriel Martinelli, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka will function just ahead of them as part of Arteta’s attack. All three of them will have to be at their best if the Gunners are to come out on top later this week.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Martin Odegaard are both major doubts for this game but William and Nicolas Pepe should be available for a place on the bench.
Attack
Eddie Nketiah rescued a point for Arsenal last weekend, so he will be full of confidence going into this clash versus the Toffees. The English marksman will lead the charge for the North London giants up top.
Alexandre Lacazette will be in a race against time to be fit for this game as he is still recovering from his thigh injury.
