When you thought you couldn’t love Marcus Rashford anymore than how much we already do, he goes and does this. While players from the Big 6 clubs participating in the ESL are mostly silent publicly about the matter (exceptions like James Milner who are at the end of their career is there obviously), the Manchester United forward refused to bow down.
Marcus Rashford Comes Out Against The ESL In The Best Way Possible
— Marcus Rashford MBE (@MarcusRashford) April 20, 2021
Marcus Rashford comes out against the ESL on Twitter (check the tweet above) and the best thing is that he uses a Sir Matt Busby quote to do it. With SAF already coming out against this venture, it remains to be seen how long the American owners of Manchester United holds on to this increasingly untenable position.
With Boris Johnson and the entire British Government against this, as well as the FA, FIFA, UEFA; and most importantly fans, the only way the Super League could have gone off the ground is if the players accepted it due to a hefty pay increase.
However, with players like Marcus Rashford coming out against it, it seems this could potentially open up an avalanche of other players coming out and speaking out against the league. After all the Manchester United superstar is the highest profile player to condemn the ESL so far.
Wait and watch folks, as we are turning up the heat for the suits in the ESL.
