Rangers have already conquered the coveted Premiership crown and are now on a mission to maintain their incredible unbeaten league status. The Ibrox fixture this afternoon against Hibernian was not supposed to be a stroll in the park, but the champions exhibited their supremacy and secured a 2-1 victory overcoming a late stumble.
Below are the Rangers players rated in their 2-1 win against Hibernian.
Allan McGregor: 7
Returned between the sticks and made a few crucial saves before conceding late in the game. Could have done little to stop Kevin Nisbet’s header.
Nathan Patterson: 8
Enjoyed his time on the pitch as he balanced the game between attack and defence. Recovered the space behind, also kept on making marauding runs to contribute to the attacking third.
Connor Goldson: 7
Had a header off target. A few nervy occasions could have led to troubles, but the Englishman maintained the composure and used his experience to protect the one-goal lead in the closing minutes of the match.
Filip Helander: 7.5
Won the most number of duels and his no-nonsense defending left Hibs frustrated. Was in the right place at the right time and showed his efficiency once again alongside Goldson.
Borna Barisic: 6.5
Was rusty at times while making tackles and could have done a lot better defensively to stop Paul McGinn’s cross before Nisbet’s goal. But his persistent overlapping runs, crosses and link-up play from the left-hand flank kept on creating problem in the Hibernian backline.
Steven Davis: 8
Another exquisite display from the veteran Northern Irishman who not only set it up for Ryan Kent to double the lead but also orchestrated the show from the deep-lying role with his positioning, passing and distribution traits. Kept things calm in the middle of the park and never allowed the visitors to settle down even after reducing the deficit with 12 minutes remaining. Made way for Bongani Zungu in the closing minutes of the game.
Glen Kamara: 7.5
Played his usual box to box game with relentless runs, one-twos and link-up football. Kept on creating chances for the attacking third and his intelligence forced the opponents to leave space in the centre of the pitch.
Joe Aribo: 8.5
Another energetic display from the Nigerian who found the net with an excellent volley following Ofir Marciano’s brilliant double save to deny Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe. Often found in and around the box to make his presence known high up the pitch. Was taken off to be replaced by Scott Arfield around the 72nd-minute mark.
Kemar Roofe: 7.5
Scored a brace last week against Cove Rangers and came close to find the net again this afternoon. Played his part in Aribo’s opener and kept the Hibs defence on their toes before making way for Cedric Itten in the closing moments of the contest.
Ryan Kent: 8
His stunning strike from the edge of the box proved to be the decider. Was well contained by the visitors otherwise, however, the moment of masterclass ensured three more points for the Gers.
Alfredo Morelos: 7
Was getting isolated at times, but the Colombian worked hard to be a part of the build-ups by tracking back and playing one-twos with his fellow attackers. Was replaced by Ianis Hagi midway through the second half.

Injected fresh legs as well as experience in midfield.

A late free-kick was well denied by Marciano in Hibs goal.
Cedric Itten: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
Bongani Zungu: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
