Arsene Wenger is ready to break the bank for Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak. Oblak has been one of the best shot-stoppers in the La Liga this season and is the only player to start all the 13 matches in for Atleti.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be keen to entice the player for a move and had enquired about the player several times only to see Diego Simeon reject his offer every time.
The player reportedly has a release clause £85m but Arsenal are reluctant to pay such huge amount of money for the Slovenian.
Petr Cech who arrived from Chelsea last season is at the helm of the Gunners goal from the last season. The 34-year old has been pretty consistent for the North Londoners but he will turn 35 in May next season and Arsenal have been searching a potential replacement for him.
Oblak, who has a contract till 2021, will reconsider his option at the end of this season but a transfer is very unlikely in January.
