Manchester United have set their sights on 22-year old Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
Jose Mourinho has been searching a suitable partner for Eric Bailly in the heart of United defence and has identified the Swedish as the potential option. Mourinho reportedly has been scouting him before his appointment as the manager of the Red Devils but went on to sign Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
Zlatan Ibrahimović recently heaped praise on the defender and has also reportedly insisted the United officials go for the signing of the player.
Benfica are reportedly considering a new contract for the player and if that happens United have to shell a larger amount than what is expected.
Eric Bailly will depart in January to play for Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations. Although Phil Jones has lend solidity to the United defence after coming back from injury, Mourinho is very keen to bolster his defensive section before going to the second half of the season.
