Barcelona were eyeing Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic but it seems Serie A giants Juventus are also reportedly monitoring the defender after a series of injuries to their defenders.
Leonardo Bonucci has been sidelined for almost two months while Dani Alves broke his shinbone and will be out for a longer period. Ivanovic could be an option for the Turin club who might offer him an escape.
Luis Enrique is believed to have expressed his interest in the defender prior to the Old Lady. The Catalans have been struggling without a proper right back this season after the departure of Dani Alves. Aleix Vidal has failed to replicate his form this season and has been mostly on the bench.
Enrique has been deploying midfielder Sergi Roberto on the right side but he has been not so impressive.
Ivanovic’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of this season and he hasn’t been offered a new contract. Ivanovic can also fill in the centre of defence when needed and that makes him a good buy if the Catalans do choose to sign him.
