Everton will welcome Burnley at Goodison Park on Saturday evening as they try to pick up a positive result at home. The Toffees suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss at the hands of Chelsea in the Premier League earlier this month.
Carlo Ancelotti will probably set his side up in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation and could be inclined to make a change to his first-team for this game. Tom Davies is expected to get a start at the expense of Alex Iwobi, who will drop to the bench.
4-1-2-1-2 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Jordan Pickford will keep his spot between the sticks for the Merseyside outfit despite shipping in two goals versus Man City in his last league outing. Ben Godfrey will continue to function alongside Michael Keane at the centre of the Everton defence as they look to restrict the Clarets from finding the back of the net throughout the game.
Mason Holgate will once again fill in at right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to put in a fruitful display as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and cause a few problems for the Burnley full-backs out on the wide areas.
Midfield
Allan will get the nod to operate as the defensive midfielder while both Andre Gomes and Tom Davies features just ahead of him at the centre of the park. Gomes will look to create some plays for others around him, while Davies will be expected to produce another tireless shift in the Everton midfield.
Gylfi Sigurdsson could get a chance to pull strings from the number ten position. The Icelandic international will play on the shoulders of the Toffees strikers as he tries to get a few shots in at goal during the 90 minutes.
Alex Iwobi will be available for selection on the bench, but James Rodriguez is a significant concern for this game.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will spearhead Ancelotti’s attack along with Richarlison, who will be keen on returning to his goal-scoring ways this weekend. Joshua King will make up the numbers on the Everton bench but could come on to make an impact in the latter stages if required.
