Werner To Lead The Line | 3-4-3 Chelsea Predicted Line-Up Vs Everton

Chelsea will lock horns with Everton at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, hoping to pick up a win and build upon their impressive form in the Premier League. The Blues registered an impressive 1-0 victory over Liverpool in midweek, whereas Carlo Ancelotti’s men recorded a similar 1-0 win against West Brom Albion.

Thomas Tuchel will probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation with a few tweaks from the last game as Marcos Alonso looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.

Defence

Edouard Mendy will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming home encounter. The Senegalese shot-stopper will be hoping to put up a strong performance and add to his tally of 12 clean sheets on Monday.

Tuchel could choose to field his usual back-three consisting of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta as they look to keep things solid at the back on Monday.

However, their prime objective will be to keep Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin quiet throughout the ninety minutes.

Veteran defender Thiago Silva should be back in contention to face Everton; however, the game against Leeds United on March 13 might be a more realistic date for his return.

Midfield

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the former occupying a more central role. Kante put up a solid performance against the Reds in midweek as he shielded the backline effectively throughout the ninety minutes, and he should be given a start if fully fit.

As mentioned above, Marcos Alonso might return to start in the left wing-back position, whereas Reece James will fill in on the other flank as the right wing-back.

Callum Hudson-Odoi will have to settle for a place on the bench but might come on in the latter stages of the game if needed.

Attack

Mason Mount and Hakim Ziyech will slot into the attacking midfield roles. The former dropped a master class against Klopp’s men in midweek as his goal turned out to be the difference between the two sides. He’ll be hoping to repeat more of the same this time.

Timo Werner will lead the line for the hosts against Everton. The German striker has found himself struggling in front of the goal this season, so he’ll be determined to impress against the Toffees.

Olivier Giroud might come on to make a cameo appearance in the second forty-five minutes.
