West Ham United will welcome Leeds United at the London Stadium on Monday night as they try to bounce back with a win in the Premier League. The Hammers suffered a narrow 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City last month, so they will be eager to put on a good showing versus the Whites at home.
David Moyes will probably set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make one change to his first-team for this game. Jarrod Bowen will be expected to come into the starting XI while Ben Johnson drops to the bench.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Moyes is sweating on the fitness of Łukasz Fabiański. If the Polish keeper can recover in time, he will be a nailed-on starter in between the sticks for the Hammers. Issa Diop will operate alongside Craig Dawson as West Ham’s first-team centre-halves as they focus on restricting the Whites from finding the back of the net during the game.
Vladimír Coufal will look to impress at the right-back spot while Aaron Cresswell fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to figure out a way to deliver some decent crosses into the Leeds penalty box when they are afforded time and space out on the flanks.
As mentioned earlier, Ben Johnson will have to be content with a place on the Hammers bench as he awaits his chance to impress as a second-half substitute if required.
Midfield
Declan Rice will anchor the midfield along with Tomas Soucek as they hope to establish their superiority over the Whites at the centre of the park. The technically-gifted trio of Jesse Lingard, Pablo Fornals and Jarrod Bowen will feature just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack.
Manuel Lanzini, Said Benrahma and Mark Noble will make up the numbers on the bench as they offer some much-needed cover for the midfield positions. One or more of them might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Moyes decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Michail Antonio will spearhead the West Ham attack in the final third. The English marksman managed to get his name on the scoresheet against Man City in his last outing which should keep him in high spirits going into Monday’s contest at the London Stadium.
