Manchester United locked horns with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier tonight as they looked to secure a positive result on their travels. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first half but struggled to find the cutting edge in the final third as they went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.
The Red Devils dominated the second 45 minutes but couldn’t manage to find the breakthrough as the contest finished 0-0 with the two Premier League teams sharing the points at the English capital.
Let’s take a look at how each Man United player fared during the clash against the Eagles.
GK: Dean Henderson – 7/10
The Red Devils keeper was mostly untroubled but pulled off a great save late in the game to salvage a point for his side.
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7/10
The English right-back was defensively solid and whipped in some inviting crosses into the Palace penalty box.
CB: Eric Bailly – 6.5/10
He didn’t commit any mistakes on the defensive end of the field and will be happy with the clean sheet tonight.
CB: Harry Maguire – 8/10
Maguire won most of his aerial duels and made multiple important clearances at the back. He also showed great hunger to win the ball back on a few occasions for his side.
LB: Luke Shaw – 7/10
Shaw did what was asked of him in defence and engineered a couple of decent chances for his teammates in the final third.
CM: Fred – 6.5/10
The Brazilian worked hard during his time on the field and created one good chance in the opposition half.
CM: Nemanja Matic – 7/10
He helped Man United dominate the midfield battle and was not shy about having a shot at goal.
LW: Marcus Rashford – 6/10
Rashford managed to fashion a couple of promising openings in the attacking third but didn’t do nearly enough to get himself a goal.
CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10
The Portugal international created several goal-scoring opportunities for others around him but failed to make a decisive contribution tonight.
RW: Mason Greenwood – 6.5/10
The youngster showed some signs of promise, especially in the second half but will be disappointed after failing to find the back of the net.
ST: Edinson Cavani – 6/10
Cavani had a couple of bright moments but was mostly ineffective and was substituted for the final quarter of the match.
Substitutes:
CM: Scott McTominay – 6/10
He added some energy to Man United’s midfield.
ST: Daniel James – 6/10
James offered very little after coming off the bench.
