In a recent tweet, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that Everton are locked in a three-way battle for Norwich City right-back Max Aarons. It is believed that the Toffees could face fierce competition from Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the race to recruit the English defender.
Everton want Max Aarons and they’re working on it, confirmed. 🔵 #EFC
Manchester United have scouted him and they’ll decide in the coming months. Bayern Münich after opening talks with Norwich are *not* convinced to pay €35m for him, as @cfbayern reported. 🔴 https://t.co/phsV5Opcb8

Aarons’ Incredible Season In The EFL Championship
The London-born talent has enjoyed an impressive season at Carrow Road after putting in several eye-catching displays on the right side of Daniel Farke’s defence. Aarons has appeared in 34 matches for the Canaries this term, registering one goal and three assists in all competitions. His incredible displays have helped Norwich build up a healthy six-point lead at the top of the league table and has put them in pole position to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
The 21-year-old deserves a pat on the back for influencing the game at both ends of the pitch as he is averaging 0.7 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 1.8 clearances, 0.6 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game in the EFL Championship. The English youngster has even distributed the ball with a lot of conviction by completing 83.1% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Aarons is currently under contract with the Norfolk club until the summer of 2024, so Farke will be under no pressure to cash in on him this summer unless he receives a fair offer for his services.
What Does The Canaries Starlet Offer On The Pitch?
Aarons has decent pace in his locker and can make some driving runs with the ball down the right flank. He has transformed himself into a reliable defender at the back and is proficient at clearing the danger when required. Aarons is usually a composed presence when in possession of the ball and can deliver some inviting crosses into the opposition penalty box. The English full-back is a hard-working player but needs to work on improving his strength if he wants to prove his worth in the Premier League.
Is Aarons The Right Choice For The Toffees?
The Norwich City prospect could be tempted to join Carlo Ancelotti’s revolution at Merseyside. He will undeniably serve as a decent long-term successor to Seamus Coleman, who is edging closer towards the twilight years of his playing career.
At 21, Aarons will be a signing for the long-run and is good enough to secure a regular starting place in Ancelotti’s first-team. Furthermore, he will significantly enhance the overall depth of the Toffees squad. With all things considered, Aarons could turn out to be a good choice for Everton to consider during the summer transfer period.
