Manchester United defender Phil Jones has backed his boss Jose Mourinho after the gaffer was sent to the stands following an angry outburst over a decision.
Jon Moss, who was in the charge of Manchester United vs West Ham United game, showed a yellow card to Paul Pogba after the French man was appeared to have simulated. Mourinho angrily kicked the bottle which led the referee sending the gaffer to the stands.
This is Mourinho’s third reaction this season following a couple of angry outbursts earlier. FA had penalised him after he questioned the appointment of referee Anthony Taylor against Liverpool. Mourinho again involved in a controversy when Mark Clattenburg sent him to the stands in a 0-0 draw with Burnley.
Phil Jones said, “I think that’s just passion. I like to see that from anyone – players, staff.
“It’s passion for the game and a willingness to win. It is part and parcel of the game. I don’t know what happened on the sideline but players still have to do the job on the pitch and unfortunately we couldn’t get the win.
We all want to win just as much as each other. We just need to stick together, keep training well, keep creating chances and we will get the goals.”
