West Ham United clashed heads with Fulham at Craven Cottage earlier this evening looking to secure maximum points on the road. Both London sides fought tooth and nail in the first 45 minutes but couldn’t break each other down as they went into the half-time break all level on the scoreline.
The Cottagers enjoyed more possession in the second 45 minutes but were woeful with their finishing in the final third. The contest ended with Thomas Soucek getting sent off controversially and David Moyes’ men securing a lacklustre goalless draw at the English capital.
Let’s take a look at how each West Ham player fared during the clash against the Cottagers.
GK: Łukasz Fabiański – 6.5/10
The Polish keeper made a couple of decent saves during the game and earned an impressive clean sheet away from home. However, his ball-distribution left a lot to be desired.
RB: Vladimír Coufal – 7/10
Coufal maintained a solid defensive shape at the back and created one good chance in the Fulham half.
CB: Craig Dawson – 7/10
He was not shy about clearing his lines when needed and kept the Cottagers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
CB: Angelo Ogbonna – 6.5/10
The Italian centre-back cleared the danger when called into action and did enough to secure the shutout.
LB: Aaron Cresswell – 7/10
Cresswell didn’t put a foot wrong in the game when defending inside his half and even managed to engineer a couple of promising chances in the final third.
CM: Declan Rice – 7.5/10
The English talent had a good game in the middle of the park and made some crucial contributions for his team at both ends of the field.
CM: Tomas Soucek – 7/10
Soucek bailed his teammates out at the back quite a few times and ended up making several important clearances for his side. He also had a couple of shots but ended the game by getting sent off by the referee which probably should have never happened.
LM: Said Benrahma – 6/10
Benrahma had a couple of bright moments during his time on the field. He got replaced in the second half.
CAM: Jesse Lingard – 6/10
He engineered one good chance during the game but never got a sniff at goal.
RM: Jarrod Bowen – 6/10
He struggled to make an impact in the final third and was subbed out of the game in the 55th minute.
ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10
Antonio won a lot of aerial duels but didn’t get any clear-cut chances to find the back of the net.
Substitutes:
ST: Andriy Yarmolenko – 6/10
The Ukrainian attacker failed to influence the game after coming off the bench.
CM: Mark Noble – 6/10
Noble helped his teammates out at the back but didn’t have too much joy in the opposition half.
RM: Ryan Fredericks – 6/10
He added some energy to the Hammers first-team.
