Manchester City locked horns with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns earlier tonight looking to pick up a positive result away from home and leapfrog Manchester United to the top of the Premier League table. Ilkay Gundogan gave his team the lead early in the game before Joao Cancelo doubled Man City’s advantage in a controversial fashion in the 20th minute. Gundogan scored again just ten minutes after that while Riyad Mahrez put real daylight between the two teams by adding another in the first half injury-time. The Mancunian giants went into the half-time break four goals to the good.
Raheem Sterling put the icing on the cake after finding the back of the net in the 57th minute which gave Man City a dominant 5-0 victory away at the West Midlands.

The Brazilian shot-stopper was hardly tested during the game and secured an easy clean sheet during the game.
RB: Joao Cancelo – 9/10
Cancelo caused all kinds of problems for the West Brom defenders by making multiple driving runs with the ball and showing exceptional creativity in the final third. He ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.
CB: John Stones – 7/10
Stones passed the ball immaculately out from the back and was not shy of clearing his lines when required.
CB: Ruben Dias – 7/10
The Portuguese defensive ace dealt with everything that came his way and secured another impressive shutout in the Premier League.
LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko – 7/10
He was defensively solid and made one encouraging run in the opposition half.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 8.5/10
The German midfielder can’t stop scoring at the moment as he produced another outstanding display at the heart of Pep Guardiola’s midfield. He scored a brace inside the first half-hour which put his team in a commanding position to go on and earn a comfortable 5-0 victory.
CM: Rodri – 7/10
Rodri retained possession well at the centre of the park and was a strong presence in the air.
CM: Bernardo Silva – 7.5/10
The Portuguese attacker worked his socks off and orchestrated a couple of decent chances for others around him during his time on the field.
LW: Phil Foden – 7/10
Foden did his fair share of defensive work and was a threat in the attacking third. He got substituted in the 51st minute.
ST: Riyad Mahrez – 8.5/10
The Algerian wing wizard was a constant menace for the Baggies defenders and did well to get himself a goal and an assist during the 90 minutes.
RW: Raheem Sterling – 8.5/10
The English speedster was always willing to run at the opposition defenders and got himself a deserved goal in the second 45 minutes.
