It has been a positive season for Manchester United so far. For a side that started the campaign with two defeats in three league games, the Red Devils have shown tremendous character and determination to get themselves into a position to challenge for the title. However, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got numerous decisions to make that might well turn out to carve out the club’s future – and loan departures are one such thing.
With Jesse Lingard’s move to the London Stadium almost confirmed, the Norwegian’s prime focus will now be on providing the youngsters with loan opportunities. Here, in this article, we take look at two players who might leave the club on loan by the end of this month.
Facundo Pellistri
With three goals in eight appearances across all competitions this term, United’s summer signing Facundo Pellistri seems ready to step into top-tier European football to gather more experience.
According to reports from various sources, Club Brugge, Alaves and Celta Vigo are in the queue for the 19-year-old’s signature; however, his next destination hasn’t been decided yet.
“There have been talks and quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan and that’s maybe something we’ll let him do now he’s had a few games in the reserves and we want him to have regular football at a high level,” – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed in his press conference on Tuesday.
Brandon Williams
The 20-year-old frustratingly finds himself down the pecking order when it comes to options in the left-back department for Manchester United. With Luke Shaw and Alex Telles competing for the position, it’s doubtful if the English full-back will get regular game-time this season.
West Ham United are reportedly searching for a back-up to Aaron Creswell following Arthur Masuaku’s knee operation – and Williams fits the bill. A loan move for the youngster would definitely benefit all the parties involved, so Solskjaer should try and seal a deal for Williams.
“No deal has been struck for any players yet going out, there is still a little period left, of course. There have been many clubs interested in our players, so let’s see what happens.” – The Norwegian tactician stated when asked about the club’s plans regarding Williams.
