Arsenal’s match with Bournemouth presents a chance for Arsene Wenger and his men to grab their first Premier League victory in the month of November. After drawing their last two games in the League against Tottenham and Manchester United, the Gunners now need all the three points to keep up their title charge. Nevertheless, Bournemouth are not a team to be taken lightly, the Cherries do have the potential to upset the big boys, so let’s take a look at some of the players who needs to be kept under watch when they visit Emirates on Sunday.
Junior Stanislas
The attacking midfielder has been the most impressive player for the Cherries directly contributing to 6 goals (3 goals, 3 assists) in his 7 appearances in the Premier League. The 27-year old has made an impact when played from the right-hand channel rather than the left and Arsenal must be careful not to allow the attacker much space to operate and track his runs into the box at all times.
Adam Smith
The right back has been very impressive this season and is one of the reasons why Bournemouth’s right-hand side has been able to trouble oppositions consistently. The 25-year old defender is very consistent and is a player who can be relied upon to deliver in both halves of the pitch.
He keeps the attackers at bay down his zone to provide wonderful support upfront with his impressive dribbling and well-timed balls into the box. Linking up with Stanislas, Smith forms a very potent partnership on the right-hand side for the visitors which will be the main threat for Arsenal on Sunday.
Harry Arter
Bournemouth’s number 8 is a player who does his job silently in the midfield. His defensive contribution is excellent and is very effective in breaking down opposition’s play in the key areas. The Irishman has made the highest number of successful tackles per game for his team and most importantly, he also knows art of slipping in the through balls at the opportune moments.
Arter has already bagged two assists in the league and most importantly the midfielder, who can play both in the central midfield or a bit deeper as a holding man, has performed admirably in the important games for Eddie Howe. The Gunners thus need to be aware of the midfielder and make sure that he is not allowed to enjoy his role when the two teams meet on Sunday.
