Barcelona are poised to go big with their transfer dealings this summer with two massive deals being eyed in Sergio Aguero and David Alaba. The two targets are struggling to renew their existing deals and could be on the move this summer.
Sergio Aguero has struggled with injuries this season and it is imminent that Manchester City could allow the Argentine to leave if a report by English daily, the Mail is to be believed. The striker’s current deal runs out in June and no renewals seem to be on the card.
David Alaba, too, is struggling to strike a meaningful deal with Bayern Munich. It is understood that the two parties are facing difficulties in agreeing to terms. Mundo Deportivo reports that Alaba could be on his way to Real Madrid this summer. However, it is believed that Barcelona are hopeful of overtaking Real Madrid in the race to sign the seasoned defender.
Here are few key talking points from both these transfers –

Barcelona Transfer Deals
Sergio Aguero To Barcelona
The acquisition of Sergio Aguero will indeed be a massive signing for the club. It may also help alter Lionel Messi’s decision on his future at the Camp Nou Stadium. Messi is currently the lone man upfront showing intent and the addition of Aguero to the line-up will certainly tempt Messi to stay on at the club.
Secondly, Barcelona are currently deploying Martin Braithwaite as their number nine and it is evidently not working out for a club of Barcelona’s standards. The addition of Aguero will spice things up for the Catalans upfront and will make them serious contenders for Europe’s elite club competition, the UEFA Champions League.
However, there are a few things Barcelona will have to pay close attention to. Firstly, Aguero will be turning 33 and the deal will only make sense if it’s a free transfer for Barcelona who are already crippled financially by the ongoing pandemic. Secondly, Aguero’s fitness lately has been under the radar and Barcelona do not fancy a repeat of the struggle the underwent with Ousmane Demeble.
David Alaba To Barcelona
David Alaba will be a healthy addition to the FC Barcelona defence which has been trembling and been shaky this season. Jordi Alba’s days at the Camp Nou seem to be limited and David Alaba could be just the perfect replacement for the Spaniard. The Spaniard has been off the grid this season with his performances and the Supercup Final defeat to Atheltic Bilbao has sealed the fate for the fullback.
With Real Madrid interested, Barcelona will have to offer something out of the way to hijack the Whites deal. It will be interesting to see how this transfer shapes out with two of the biggest clubs in the world going head to head against each other for the man.
