West Ham United will entertain Burnley at the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Hammers managed to secure a hard-fought 1-0 win away at Stockport County in the FA Cup recently, which will give them some momentum going into this league clash at the English capital.
David Moyes will probably set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to revert to his strongest XI for this weekend’s encounter versus Sean Dyche’s men. Pablo Fornals is likely to return to Moyes’ first-team at the expense of Manuel Lanzini, who will drop to the bench.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Darren Randolph will feature in between the sticks for the Hammers after earning a clean sheet versus Stockport in his last outing. Angelo Ogbonna will play alongside Craig Dawson at the heart of the West Ham backline as they look to keep Burnley’s Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes quiet during the 90 minutes.
Vladimír Coufal will feature at right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Moyes will give both of them the license to get forward and cause a few problems for the Burnley centre-backs by delivering some decent crosses from the wide areas.
Ben Johnson will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice will anchor the midfield for the Hammers as they look to retain the ball well at the centre of the park and orchestrate some meaningful chances for the front players. The technically-gifted trio of Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen will operate just ahead of them as part of the West Ham attack.
Soucek scored the winning goal versus Everton in the Premier League earlier this month, so he will be desperate to put on another productive display this weekend. Manuel Lanzini will have to settle for a spot on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
Attack
Michail Antonio will lead the line for the Hammers up top. The talented striker is in dire need of a goal against Burnley so that he can get some confidence back ahead of a busy few weeks in English football.
