Real Madrid have been long linked with a swoop for Paris Saint Germain’s Kylian Mbappe. The French World Cup winner is believed to be the centre of Real Madrid’s transfer decisions lately. According to a report published by the Spanish daily, AS, the Whites are planning to go all out for the transfer of Mbappe this coming summer when the attacker will have only one year left in his Paris Saint Germain contract.
The Real Madrid faithful have fantasized over Kylian Mbappe’s arrival to Santiago Bernabeu for a while now and it could finally be coming true. Interestingly, when Eden Hazard was presented in front of the Bernabeu crowd, there were chants of Mbappe echoing all across the ground.
However, the dream will not be easy to achieve financially even for the mighty Real Madrid. It is understood that the Ligue 1 side will want to recoup the money they lavishly spent to sign Neymar from Barcelona a couple of seasons ago.
According to a separate report published by Mail, the fees could be in the region of €150million (£135m) to €222m (£200m). During the unprecedented global pandemic, Real Madrid have been amongst the worst affected clubs in terms of revenue. The Whites will thus have to resort to freeing up places in their squad to accommodate the arrival of the French World Cup winner.
The 4th Official has a look at the candidates most likely to departure from Real Madrid this summer –
Gareth Bale
Gareth Bale’s relationship with the club has plummeted over the past 2 years or so. The Whites will want to get rid of the Welshman at the earliest possible scope with the transfer of Mbappe in mind. However, Real Madrid will not be able to get a substantial sum for Bale with the attacker barely featuring in the past 18 months. Even Bale’s return to Tottenham has been crippled by injuries.
Marcelo
Marcelo has had a glorious career at the Santiago Bernabeu after joining as a sparkling teenager. Marcelo carried forward the legacy of Roberto Carlos at the left-back position. However, the most brilliant of stories come to an end and it seems like it’s time for the curtain to be drawn on Marcelo’s Real Madrid career. The left-back has had opportunities and appearances come by his way in limited numbers in the past two seasons. Ferland Mendy has taken over the left-back position at Real Madrid and thus it seems like it’s the right moment for both the parties involved to part ways.
Dani Ceballos
Ceballos has had two years at the Emirates Stadium to prove himself and it has seemingly not gone to plan. Los Blancos expected the youngster to return to Madrid from his loan spell as a finished product of Real Madrid’s class and quality. However, the story seems very different and stats certainly do not lie. The Whites would be keen to strike a deal for Ceballos in the coming few months.
Isco
After being one of the crucial players in the team that won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, Isco has seen himself forced out of the team due to injuries and form in recent years. The Spaniard has had very little game time to impress Zidane. The presence of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro in midfield has made it all the more difficult for Isco to replace them. Isco has been long linked with a move away from the Spanish capital and it could finally be happening this summer.
Brahim Diaz
The youngster has never really had the opportunities since arriving in Madrid from Manchester City. The player is currently out on loan at AC Milan and the Whites would want to strike a deal for Diaz as soon as possible.
Luka Jovic
The striker was recently loaned out to Frankfurt after a poor 18 months in Madrid where he only contributed with two goals and two assists in over 30 appearances. The Whites will want to cash in on the player in the coming summer.
