In a recent report, The Daily Mail has stated that Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis is gathering interest from the EFL Championship with Bournemouth and Swansea City interested in securing his signature on loan during this January transfer window. It is believed that both those EFL Championship clubs are keen on bolstering their squad for a promotion push and are eyeing a loan move for the Villans centre-forward this month (via The Daily Mail).
Davis’ Mounting Struggles At Villa Park Recently
It has been a campaign full of frustrations for the 22-year-old as he has struggled to secure regular playing minutes at the West Midlands club so far. Davis has made seven appearances for the Villans this term, registering one goal and one assist in the process in various competitions.
The English frontman is still waiting to make his first start for the Villans in the Premier League this season. The Stevenage-born marksman is averaging 0.8 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the top tier of England. He also needs to be more careful when interchanging possession with his teammates in the final third as evidenced by his pass success rate of 76.2% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Davis needs to ask for a loan move out of Villa Park as he is currently far from becoming a regular starter in Dean Smith’s first-team. The striker can benefit from temporarily switching clubs this month in search of more game time in the remainder of this campaign.

Davis is primarily a centre-forward but can also serve in a supporting role and play as a secondary striker if needed. He possesses the strength to win a few headers for his side and can use his strong 1.89m frame to overpower his marker and hold possession up for his teammates.
When the English attacker is playing with confidence, he can score some important goals in the final third. However, those days have been few and far between for him at Villa Park this season, which is why he needs to go out on loan to kickstart his young career in the second half of this season.

Smith would be better off sending Davis out on loan in January as the striker is currently not good enough to rival Ollie Watkins for a place in his first-team. With Wesley Moraes set to return from his long-term injury soon, the Midlands giants can afford to sanction Davis’ temporary exit, barring any further injuries. The English striker could potentially come back from his loan spell as a better version of himself at the end of this campaign which will benefit the Villans in the long-run.
