Leicester City will lock horns with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon hoping to secure a victory on the road and qualify into the next round of the FA Cup. The Foxes managed to grab a 2-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend, which will give them some momentum going into this cup encounter away at Staffordshire.
Brendan Rodgers could choose to go with a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to rest a lot of his first-team stars for this upcoming clash versus the Potters. Kelechi Iheanacho, Caglar Soyuncu and Ayoze Perez could all start in this game and give a good account of themselves in the FA Cup.
4-3-3 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Stoke City
Defence
Danny Ward could feature in goal for the East Midlands outfit as Rodgers looks to hand Kasper Schmeichel a rest on the bench. Caglar Soyuncu could return to play alongside Jonny Evans at the heart of the Leicester backline as they look to restrict the Potters from scoring this weekend.
Timothy Castagne will be a guaranteed starter at right-back while Luke Thomas fills in on the other side as the left-back. Both full-backs will be instructed to get forward and create a few inviting chances in the Stoke City half.
James Justin and Wesley Fofana will make up the numbers on the bench following their heavy involvement in recent weeks.
Midfield
Dennis Praet, Nampalys Mendy and Daniel Amartey will function as the central midfielders as they look to keep the ball moving and dominate the game at the centre of the park. The midfield trio will have to find a way to engineer some decent openings for their teammates in the final third.
James Maddison is unlikely to be risked in this game, but Youri Tielemans will be available for selection on Rodgers’ bench as he awaits his chance to shine as an impact substitute in the second half if needed.
Attack
Cengiz Under will operate down the left flank while Ayoze Perez gets an opportunity to put in a productive display from the right. Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to spearhead the Leicester attack up top and will carry most of the goal-scoring burden for his team.
Jamie Vardy will be rested on the bench, but Rodgers could use him if his side are in need of a goal late in the game.
