Manchester United delivered yet another convincing performance when the chips were down and will provide temporary respite to Jose Mourinho from the ‘Footballing Einsteins’ as he likes to call the pundits. United faced Feyenoord in a must win match to keep their Europa League advancement chances still alive and although on paper it was a complete mismatch, there was uncertainty in the United camp owing to their inconsistent form this season. But the script transpired as it should and a morale-boosting display saw them emerge as 4-0 winners at Old Trafford.
They are up against a West Ham United side who are battling severe issues of their own. Touted to be their blockbuster season, everything has been a disappointment till now. Currently in the 17th position with a meagre 11 points from 12 matches, they suffered a heartbreaking loss to Tottenham Hotspur with last ditch Harry Kane goals doing the damage.
Although it might seem to be an easy fixture taking the factors into consideration, United will be aware of the unpredictable nature of the Hammers. They have the physicality, they have the quality and they have the drive. Unfortunately for them, all three factors have failed to transpire all at once this season and hence the dire condition.
PREDICTED MANCHESTER UNITED LINE-UP VS WEST HAM UNITED (4-2-3-1)
DEFENCE
David De Gea will be back in goal after a midweek rest and will be confident of keeping the likes of Antonio and Zaza out.
Valencia seems to be the first-choice even when not 100% and will be at right-back again. Phil Jones will hope he has impressed Mourinho enough to get into the starting eleven against West Ham.
He is likely to be partnered by Rojo after the Argentine was given an off yesterday. Blind is likely to line-up at left-back with Darmian and Shaw providing alternatives.
