Leeds United will face off against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Tuesday evening looking to pick up another three points in the Premier League. The Whites managed to grind out a 1-0 win over Burnley last weekend, which will give them a lot of momentum going into this league clash in midweek.
Marcelo Bielsa will probably set his team up in a 4-1-4-1 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum versus the Baggies later this week. Patrick Bamford turned out to be the match-winner last weekend when his penalty made the difference, so he will be nailed-on to spearhead the Leeds attack up top.
4-1-4-1 Leeds United Predicted Lineup To Face West Brom
Defence
Illan Meslier will feature in goal for the Whites after securing a hard-earned clean sheet versus the Clarets last weekend. Luke Ayling will resume his centre-back partnership with Pascal Struijk at the heart of the Leeds backline as they look to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back.
Ezgjan Alioski will be a nailed-on starter at left-back while Stuart Dallas fills in on the other flank as the right-back. Bielsa will ask both his full-backs to press high up the field so that they can win possession back early and cause a few problems for the Baggies on the counter.
Midfield
Kalvin Phillips will operate in a deep-lying defensive midfield role as he focuses on providing adequate protection for his teammates at the back. Mateusz Klich and Rodrigo will function as the box to box midfielders just ahead of him at the centre of the park.
Jack Harrison will try to put on a good performance down the left flank while Raphinha looks to catch the eye on the right. The Brazilian attacker had an encouraging game versus Sean Dyche’s men last weekend but didn’t manage to find the back of the net. Hence, this upcoming clash at the Hawthorns could be an ideal chance for him to prove his worth by registering a goal.
Ian Poveda and Pablo Hernandez will be available for selection on the bench but could come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Bielsa calls upon their services.
Attack
Patrick Bamford will once again lead the charge for the Whites up top. The English striker got his name on the scoresheet in his last league start, which will keep him in high spirits in midweek.
