Steven Gerrard could return to Liverpool but not as a player, Jürgen Klopp hinted.
Gerrard recently announced his retirement from football. The decorated midfielder came through the ranks of the Merseyside club and spent a record 19 years with the club. There was earlier speculations linking the 36-year old to a coaching role at Anfield but the veteran player made it clear that he hadn’t been offered a role.
Gerrard is currently undergoing his UEFA A license degree.
Klopp gave an indication that Gerrard could join his coaching staff, “This is not the room I want to speak about this.
“When something needs to be announced, we will announce it, then we’ll talk. There will be something to be announced, that’s sure,’ he added. ‘If he wants to make a different career, then we want to help him.
“Nothing more to say, but maybe that was too much already. I’m only here 14 months, how could I be the person to say how big these people are?”
