Liverpool will play hosts to Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Wednesday night looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League. The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley last weekend and are not playing their best football at the moment. Therefore, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that the 2,000 people in attendance at Anfield would make a difference and inspire his players to put on a good show during the 90 minutes.
The Merseyside outfit will once again set themselves up in a 4-3-3 formation with Klopp expected to keep changes to a minimum for this midweek clash at home. However, they will be sweating on the fitness of Joel Matip, who was subbed at half-time versus the Cottagers due to a back problem.

Defence
Alisson Becker was at the peak of his powers at Craven Cottage last weekend. The Brazilian international will be a nailed-on starter in the Liverpool goal. As mentioned earlier, Matip will be in a race against time to be fit for this game. If he can recover in time, then he will operate alongside Fabinho at the heart of the Liverpool backline. Otherwise, Klopp will have no choice but to play his captain Jordan Henderson once again as a makeshift centre-back.
Trent Alexander-Arnold should keep his place at right-back while Andrew Robertson tries to produce a productive display on the other flank as the left-back. Klopp will give both of them the license to join in on the attack so that they can engineer some clear-cut chances for their teammates up front.
Midfield
Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson will anchor the midfield for the Reds as they look to dominate the battle at the centre of the park. Curtis Jones will get the freedom to express himself as a box to box midfielder following a string of impressive displays from him recently.
Takumi Minamino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could get a chance to impress as the second-half substitutes if Klopp decides to call upon their services off the bench.
Attack
Klopp will go with his strongest frontline of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah as they focus on interchanging possession amongst each other to orchestrate some meaningful openings in the final third. Salah has scored in three consecutive league matches, so he will be Liverpool’s best hope for a goal on Wednesday night.
Divock Origi will make up the numbers on the bench but could come on to make an impact in the latter stages of the contest if needed.
