It is understood that the Reds are desperate to bolster their defensive ranks this winter following the long-term injuries to Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, so they have identified the Brazilian centre-back as one of their targets when the transfer window reopens at the start of next year (via The Liverpool Echo).
