In a recent report, OK Diario has stated that Everton are pushing for a January move for Real Madrid playmaker Isco. It is believed that Los Blancos are prepared to cash in on him during the winter transfer window which has put the Toffees in a good position to secure his services (via OK Diario).
The 38-time Spanish international has got less than two years remaining on his current contract, but his career at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium seems to be going nowhere. He has fallen behind the likes of Vinicius Junior, Marco Asensio and Rodrygo in Zinedine Zidane’s pecking order. Hence, a chance to make a January move to Everton to link up with his former manager Carlo Ancelotti could be too tempting for the player to turn down.
Isco’s Toothless Start To This La Liga Season
Isco has been far from convincing whenever he has featured for the Madrid giants this season. He is yet to open his goal-scoring account for this campaign despite making six appearances for Zinedine Zidane’s side thus far.
However, it is worth noting that the Spaniard has often been utilised off the bench, which explains his lack of productivity in the final third. Isco is averaging 0.7 shots, 0.3 key passes and 1.3 dribbles per match in this La Liga campaign. Still, the Benalmadena-born talent deserves credit for being neat when distributing possession in the opposition half as he has completed 86.7% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

On his day, Isco can be a delight to watch as he has got excellent composure, balance, ball control and dribbling ability to cause all sorts of problems for the opposition backline. He is proficient at giving himself a yard of space to get a few strikes in on-target.
However, the Spanish playmaker has struggled to score or create enough goals for Los Blancos recently. Maybe a switch to Goodison Park this winter will offer him a chance to make a fresh start and rediscover his old form under the expert guidance of Ancelotti.
Isco is good enough to keep Richarlison and James Rodriguez on their toes in the race to secure a regular starting berth at Merseyside.
