Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Hawthorns on Sunday as they lock horns with West Bromwich Albion. The Lilywhites have gotten away with two back to back wins despite failing to put up convincing performances. But, Jose Mourinho’s men have performed extraordinarily away from home, so they will be heading into this game high on confidence.
Predicted Tottenham Lineup Vs West Brom
Defence
Mourinho surprisingly did not make too many defensive alterations to the side that secured a 3-1 win over Ludogorets in midweek. In fact, we might even see an unchanged central defensive duo of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier as Tottenham look to strengthen their defensive record away from home.
Serge Aurier had a little problem regarding his fitness but should be fit for the West Brom clash, although we favour Matt Doherty to retain his place at right-back. Ben Davies, however, is more than likely to make way for Sergio Reguilon at left-back.
Joe Hart, too, might have to make way for Hugo Lloris in goal, in what is pretty much an automatic change if we are to consider the rotation policy Mourinho has implemented this season.
Midfield
It was surprising to see Moussa Sissoko starting in midweek and the Frenchman is expected to retain his place in the side this weekend as well. The same, however, cannot be said for Harry Winks, who is likely to make way for new signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The Dane was rested in midweek in the form of a substitute appearance and will play a crucial role in Spurs’ second line of press this weekend. As for Giovani Lo Celso, he is tipped to return to the bench, paving the way for Tanguy Ndombele to occupy the advanced midfield role.
Attack
Not many changes are expected in attack either as Harry Kane was surprisingly given a start against Ludogorets. The Englishman didn’t disappoint either, scoring an early goal in the 3-1 victory. He will once again be spearheading the Tottenham attack this weekend.
Son Heung-Min is the only player expected to return to the side, as far as the attacking unit is concerned. The South Korean international should replace Gareth Bale at left wing, with Lucas Moura occupying the opposite flank.
The likes of Carlos Vinicius, Steven Bergwijn and Bale will offer additional options from the bench for Jose Mourinho.
