Everton will play hosts to Manchester United on Saturday afternoon as they try to secure all three points at Goodison Park. The Toffees have suffered two successive losses in the Premier League, so Carlo Ancelotti will be desperate to get a positive response from his players this weekend. Despite their poor recent form, the Merseyside club are still unbeaten at home and will fancy their chances of success versus a Man United side that lost 2-1 away at Istanbul Basaksehir in midweek.
Ancelotti will stick with his favoured 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name Lucas Digne in his first-team after he served out his one-match suspension. However, Richarlison is still unavailable due to suspension while Seamus Coleman is unlikely to recover in time for this clash at Merseyside.
4-3-3 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester United
Defence
Jordan Pickford will once again operate in goal for the Toffees despite shipping in two goals in each of his past four outings in the English top-flight. Michael Keane will lineup alongside Yerry Mina at the heart of the Everton backline as they look to keep Man United’s Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood quiet during the game.
Jonjoe Kenny will probably get the nod to start at right-back in the injury absence of Seamus Coleman. As mentioned earlier, Lucas Digne will return to Ancelotti’s starting XI as he looks to put on another productive showing as the left-back.
Niels Nkounkou and Ben Godfrey will be available for selection on the bench.
Midfield
The Toffees midfield could be comprised of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. All three players need to figure out a way to be creative with their passing so that they can engineer some inviting chances to score for their teammates up top.
Andre Gomes is a slight concern but could be named on the bench if he can recover in time for this game.
Attack
Alex Iwobi will try to give a good account of himself on the left flank while James Rodriguez hopes to produce a match-winning performance on the right. The Colombian winger is a slight doubt for this clash as well and will have to pass a late fitness test if he wants to be a starter this weekend. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will once again lead the charge for the Toffees down the middle. The English striker is leading the Premier League’s golden boot race with eight goals and will carry most of the goal-scoring workload up top.
