Fabinho has rejected the rumours of a possible move to Manchester United. After the injury to Antonio Valencia, Jose Mourinho was very eager to bring the Monaco right back to Old Trafford. Mourinho will have to wait if he wants to sign the player as the French side are very reluctant to release one of their star players. The player has transformed rapidly since signing from Rio Ave in 2015.
He is defensively very solid and can also surge ahead with the ball when his team needs him. He can also be an option in the midfield for Mourinho although the gaffer has already got a host of midfielders at his disposal. Fabinho is known for his goal scoring prowess and already has bagged seven goals in this season. Fabinho had made more tackles vs Tottenham Hotspur (10) than any other player has in a Champions League match.
Fabinho said, “I’m in my fourth season at Monaco,”
“When I arrived, I thought I would spend two years here and then leave for Spain or England. They’re leagues I like a lot. But here, I’ve improved and I’ve picked up experience. I know I’m an important player, and I work for people to have confidence in me.
“Monaco have been very important for me. It’s the club that has helped me into the Seleção. I extended my contract after the last transfer window. My name was linked to big clubs, notably in England.
“I wanted to leave Monaco then. That was my intention, I thought it was the right moment. But as I didn’t get any concrete offer, I decided the best solution was to stay here to play in the Champions League and try to win something with this team,” he added.
