Leicester City will take on Leeds United at Elland Road on Monday night hoping to pick up a hard-fought and gritty win over their travels. The Foxes managed to outwit Arsenal by a narrow 1-0 scoreline in their last outing in the Premier League which will do their confidence a world of good going into this upcoming clash at West Yorkshire.
Brendan Rodgers could choose to go with the 3-5-2 formation and is expected to reinstate Harvey Barnes back into his starting XI. Cengiz Under will be available for selection on the away team’s bench.
3-5-2 Leicester City Predicted Lineup To Face Leeds United
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel will operate in between the sticks for the East Midlands giants after shipping in one goal against AEK Athens in midweek. Rodgers might opt to play with a back three of Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and Christian Fuchs as they try to keep Leeds’ Patrick Bamford quiet during the 90 minutes.
Evans is a slight doubt for this game after picking up a knock versus the Gunners, so he will have to pass a late fitness test if he wants to start for Leicester on Monday.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans, Nampalys Mendy and Dennis Praet will make up the numbers for the Foxes at the centre of the park. The talented trio will focus on enjoying more of the ball in midfield so that they can engineer some inviting opportunities to score in the opposition half.
James Justin should get the nod to start as a makeshift left-sided wing-back. Marc Albrighton could get another chance to impress down the right flank. As mentioned earlier, Cengiz Under will have to settle for a spot on the bench. James Maddison might accompany him on the sidelines as Rodgers looks to hand him some rest. However, both players should get a chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Harvey Barnes will probably get the responsibility to partner Jamie Vardy up top. Both Leicester attackers will be hungry to find the back of the net on Monday night. However, it won’t be easy for them to cope with Leeds’ press and high intensity when the dynamic duo tries to interchange possession between each other while operating in and around the penalty box.
Kelechi Iheanacho will be a part of the visiting bench but could influence the game as a second-half substitute if Rodgers decides to call upon his services.
