Premiership giants Rangers will be looking to continue their spectacular run of form when they face off against Kilmarnock in the league this weekend. Although this game is usually one with a lot riding on it, Rangers actually have even more than usual to play for this time around. With Old Firm rivals Celtic playing in last season’s Scottish Cup semifinal, Steven Gerrard’s men will have the opportunity to go nine points clear of Neil Lennon’s side.
Rangers’ most recent action came in the form of a rather comfortable 1-0 victory against Polish outfit Lech Poznań, who despite their best efforts, were unable to produce a single shot on target. Alfredo Morelos scored the only goal of the evening, as the Gers’ back-line continued to impress with their apparent invincibility. Having conceded just one goal through the entire month of October, even though they played five matches, Gerrard will be hopeful that they’re able to start November off on a similar note.

The Ibrox club don’t have too many injury concerns to be worried about this time, with Gerrard having almost a full-strength roster to choose his matchday eleven from. The likes of Brandon Barker and Borna Barisic are now back in action, with the only assured absentee being centre-had Nikola Katic. Bongani Zungu is one player that Rangers fans have been eager to see in action, but having only been training with the club for the last few days, the likelihood of him starting the match is extremely bleak.

Defence
Considering the sheer form that the Rangers back-line has been displaying over recent weeks, it wouldn’t be overly surprising to see Gerrard sticking to his guns. However, Leon Balogun is expected to be replaced by the incoming Filip Helander. Allan McGregor has now essentially been reinstated as the number one keeping option, which means that McLaughlin could have to do with a place on the bench. Janet Tavernier and Borna Barisic are likely to continue in the full-back roles.
Midfield
Despite Ryan Jack returning to full fitness, the Scottish ace was forced to do with a place on the bench in the midweek fixture against Lech Poznań. For this match though, there’s every chance that Gerrard is going to bring the midfielder back into the eleven. Alongside him, Glen Kamara could retain his place in the lineup, with Steven Davis expected to drop down to the bench, having played in the midweek game.
Attack
The Gers won their most recent match by just a single goal, and that is something that they will surely be looking to improve on over the weekend. Considering just how badly Kemar Roofe struggled over that clash, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Alfredo Morelos returning to the eleven. Ianis Hagi could drop down to the bench with Brandon Barker replacing him, while Ryan Kent should continue down the other flank. Joe Aribo could start in the number ten role as well.
