As the Premier League gets back underway this weekend, Tottenham Hotspur will restart their campaign on Sunday when they host West Ham United. The Lilywhites will be aiming for their first win at home, after failing to register a victory in the games against Everton and Newcastle United. They did, however, win both of their away matches and are currently fifth in the league table.
Predicted Tottenham Lineup vs West Ham
Defence
Japhet Tanganga, unfortunately, could be facing a brief spell on the sidelines due to a thigh problem. Eric Dier is another doubt after missing the Denmark tie during the international break, although we do expect the Englishman to recover in time this weekend.
Dier should feature alongside Davinson Sanchez, thus forming the heart of the four-man Spurs backline, although Jose Mourinho also has Toby Alderweireld as a potential alternative, should Dier fail to recover.
Elsewhere in defence, Serge Aurier may continue ahead of new signing Matt Doherty at right-back. Similarly, Sergio Reguilon could also get the nod ahead of Ben Davies on the opposite flank as Mourinho looks to keep the team fresh for the upcoming Europa League fixture against LASK next week.
Hugo Lloris is an undisputed starter in goal as the Frenchman looks to continue his excellent start to the campaign.
Midfield
Giovani Lo Celso is a slight doubt for Tottenham heading into this game as the playmaker had to pull out of the Argentina squad due to a thigh problem. He might feature against LASK next week, meaning we could expect Tanguy Ndombele to retain his place in the starting lineup.
The Frenchman should be partnered by the duo of Moussa Sissoko and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the three-man Tottenham midfield, although Ndombele is more than likely to operate in an advanced role.
Attack
Fans will be excited to get the first glimpse of Gareth Bale following his return to Tottenham this summer. He returned to team training during the international break and could be in contention to feature against the Hammers.
However, the Welshman is unlikely to start, meaning we could still expect Lucas Moura and Son Heung-Min to occupy the wide attacking roles, with Harry Kane, who did pick up a slight niggle during the international break, set to spearhead the Spurs attack this weekend.
Bale, as well as fellow summer arrival Carlos Vinicius, could potentially make their Spurs debuts from the bench.
