According to SportBild, Bayern Munich are eyeing a shock move for Andrej Kramaric. The Hoffenheim striker has emerged as the latest target for the Bavarians, following his remarkable display in this club’s 4-1 win over the Bundesliga champions. Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has already contacted Kramaric’s representatives earlier this week, offering him an opportunity to make a permanent switch to FC Bayern.
Andrej Kramaric’s Terrific Early Season Form
Kramaric has always been a consistent performer for Hoffenheim, having netted 77 goals and registered 30 assists in just 153 matches in all competitions. Especially in recent weeks, he has been making a lot of waves in German football due to his terrific form in these early parts of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Croat kickstarted the season with a hat-trick against 1.FC Koln, helping Hoffenheim seal an astonishing 3-2 win. It was followed by an even more remarkable 4-1 victory over defending champions Bayern Munich, where the forward netted a brace. He scored another brace in the DFB Pokal as well, against Chemnitzer.
Overall, Kramaric has netted seven goals in just three competitive matches in the 2020/21 campaign so far. He has built a formidable attacking partnership with Munas Dabbur, with Hoffenheim looking like a real threat under the leadership of Sebastian Hoeness.
Where Does Kramaric Fit In At Bayern Munich
At Bayern Munich, it is safe to assume that Kramaric will become the desired alternative for Robert Lewandowski. The Pole, who is on the wrong side of his 30s, has experienced some fitness issues in recent months as he heads towards the final phase of his career. While there are no doubts regarding his overall quality, Lewandowski will find it difficult to cope with the hectic schedule of the 2020/21 campaign.
That is where Kramaric could fit in as he is certainly more accomplished than the youngsters like Joshua Zirkzee and Jan Fiete Arp.
Kramaric To Bayern: A Masterstroke Or A Cowardly Move?
Bayern Munich are notorious for the questionable transfer policy that has seen them poach star players from their direct league rivals, including Borussia Dortmund.
Kramaric, in that regard, would be no exception as he is arguably the most important player for Hoffenheim. The ex-Leicester City forward’s potential departure could create a massive void in TSG’s offensive unit, which might affect their overall progress under Hoeness.
Bayern Munich, on the other hand, will be considerably strengthened by the addition of the forward, who can provide the much-needed depth in the offensive unit. The fact that he can even operate in wider offensive areas should also aid Hansi Flick given the fact that Bayern have no real alternatives for the likes of Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry.
Hence, making a move for Kramaric does not bode well for the Bundesliga at all. It hurts Bayern’s direct rivals while simultaneously strengthening their own ranks and that too with just a few days remaining until the transfer window slams shut.
