David Moyes’ West Ham United side secured their first win of the new Premier League season after thrashing Wolverhampton Wanderers by a whopping 4-0 scoreline. The manager wasn’t on the touchline himself, as he is currently self-isolating at home. Despite this, his Hammers side ran riot in the London Stadium tonight. Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring in the first half, before netting once again in the second period. Tomas Soucek’s header went in off Raul Jimenez to add a third, before record signing Sebastien Haller got in on the act just minutes before the full-time whistle.

Lukasz Fabianski – 6.5
The keeper wasn’t required to make too many saves over the course of the ninety, as the away side only registered a few shots on target. Tried to release the ball quickly in possession too.
Ryan Fredericks – 7
The speedster put in a solid defensive shift in the first-half, but was required to come off injured quite early into the second period. Pulled up with what looked like a hamstring problem.
Fabian Balbuena – 7.5
The defender didn’t take any unnecessary risks during that tie, and ensured that Wolves crosses didn’t do too much damage. Calm and collected with the ball at his feet as well.
Angelo Ogbonna – 7.5
Despite playing a couple of loose passes, the big defender managed to keep the likes of Raul Jimenez and Pedro Neto quiet. Won a flurry of important headers in the defensive third too.
Aaron Cresswell – 7.5
The full-back was deployed as part of a back-three tonight, and he dealt with the pressure very effectively. Didn’t allow the Wolves attackers any space to work with inside the Hammers’ box.
Arthur Masuaku – 8.5
The full-back was nothing short of sensational down the flank tonight, as he kept Adama Traore quiet by his usual high standards. Got forward and delivered some neat crosses as well.
Jarrod Bowen – 7.5
The speedster worked extremely hard while tracking back, despite taking a couple of loose touches in midfield. Scored two goals on the night to get West Ham on their way to victory.
Tomas Soucek – 8
The tall midfielder ran the show in the Hammers’ engine room with some sublime passing as well as vision. Seemed to score his team’s third, only for it to be branded a Raul Jimenez own goal.
Declan Rice – 7
The Englishman overran the ball on a few occasions, but controlled the tempo of West Ham’s play every time they attacked. Put in a solid defensive shift to protect the back-line as well.
Pablo Fornals – 7
Saw his shot ricochet off the post, but it was then tapped in by Bowen for the Hammers’ second. Made some good runs into space and put the Wolves defenders under a lot of pressure.
Michail Antonio – 9
The Englishman was, far and away, the best player on the pitch tonight. Worked his socks off for the badge, and didn’t allow the usually dependable Wolves defenders a single moment of respite.

Came on just minutes into the second half as Ryan Fredericks pulled up with an injury. Didn’t make any mistakes down the flank and put in a decent defensive shift as well.
