Aston Villa will face off against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday evening hoping to pick up a win and continue their momentum in the Premier League. The Villans have won four successive matches to start their campaign and will be full of confidence heading into this contest at the English capital.
Dean Smith will once again set up his team in a 4-3-3 formation and is likely to revert to his strongest XI for this upcoming league clash versus Scott Parker’s men. Ollie Watkins is expected to get the nod to lead the line for the West Midlands outfit up top.
4-3-3 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Emiliano Martínez will operate in between the sticks for the Villans after being rested in the win over Bristol City in midweek. Matty Cash will get the nod to play at right-back while Matt Targett will look to impress on the other side as the left-back.
Ezri Konsa will partner Tyrone Mings at the heart of Smith’s defence as they focus on keeping things solid at the back when they lace up to face Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrović on Monday. Kourtney Hause and Neil Taylor will be available for selection on the bench and could come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.
Midfield
Smith could choose to go with a midfield comprised of Conor Hourihane, Douglas Luiz and John McGinn. The hard-working trio will be responsible for producing a battling performance at the centre of the park.
Henri Lansbury will have to settle for a place on the bench as he provides cover for the central midfield positions.
Attack
The talented trio of Jack Grealish, Ollie Watkins and Trezeguet will be offered a chance to impress in the attacking third of the field. Grealish will once again carry most of the creative workload down the left flank while Ollie Watkins spearheads Smith’s attack inside the opponent’s penalty box.
Keinan Davis will make up the numbers on the bench as he awaits his chance to shine as an impact substitute in the second 45 minutes if Smith decides to call upon his services. However, Bertrand Traoré is a slight doubt for this game on Monday evening.
