Liverpool will face off against Arsenal at Anfield on Monday night as they try to pick up another positive result and keep their 100% winning record intact in the Premier League. The Reds have begun this campaign on fire after earning three consecutive victories across all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp will probably stick with his preferred 4-3-3 formation and is expected to revert to his strongest XI for this home clash versus the Gunners. Thiago Alcantara is set to make his full debut for the Merseyside outfit while Curtis Jones settles for a spot on the bench.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Alisson Becker will operate in goal for the Reds after being given a rest in midweek. Both Fabinho and Virgil Van Dijk played 45 minutes each in the 7-2 victory over Lincoln City. We can expect them to once again feature at the heart of Klopp’s defence as they look to maintain a high line and neutralise the threat of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Willian throughout the 90 minutes.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will once again get the nod to start at right-back while Andrew Robertson fills in on the other side as the left-back. Klopp would ask both his full-backs to push high up the field to offer support to the front players. However, they would also need to track back when the Arsenal attackers are looking to exploit the space behind them on the break.
Joe Gomez is a slight doubt for this game but should be ready in time to be named on the bench.
Midfield
Georginio Wijnaldum, Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita could make up the Liverpool midfield as they focus on retaining possession well at the centre of the park which could help them cook up some decent goal-scoring opportunities in the opposition half.
Curtis Jones might have to settle for a spot on the bench despite scoring a brace in the midweek win over Lincoln in the EFL Cup. James Milner will be in a race against time to be fit for this contest at Anfield.
Attack
Klopp’s fabulous front three picks themselves, so we can expect to see the likes Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah wreak havoc out on the flanks. Roberto Firmino will once again spearhead Liverpool’s attack down the middle after grabbing a well-deserved assist in his last outing.
Takumi Minamino and Diogo Jota will be named on the bench as they await their opportunity to come on and make an impact in the second half if needed.
