Patrick Vieira has admitted that it would be a ‘Fairy tale’ story if he ever gets a chance to manage Manchester City.
A World Cup winner with France, Vieira spent nine seasons with Arsenal in a trophy-laden stint. He has won two Premier League and four FA Cups for The Gunners. The tireless runner, who had a one year spell with City, has recently completed his first season with New York City FC as a head coach.
He said, “This is the fairytale story. It doesn’t often happen like that. I don’t look further happened to be than next year because in our world anything can happen. I am really pleased that people in this club think one day I can manage here.
“That makes me proud but at the same time we never know what’s going to happen. I am happy to be part of the group because I love the people. They have given me the opportunity to do something I wasn’t sure I was capable of doing.”
The midfielder was also the coach of Man City’s reserves team.
He went on to add, “I’d sit down with Ferran [Soriano, the City chief executive] and Brian [Marwood, senior executive] and talk about it. Then they can tell me what they think. They will be part of the decision.”
