In a recent report, The Daily Mail has revealed that Wolverhampton Wanderers are willing to entertain offers for Adama Traore this summer. However, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo will only tolerate big-money offers for the Spanish winger, who is currently not an automatic pick at the Molineux Stadium (via The Daily Mail).
Traore’s Impressive Form In The Premier League Last Season
The 24-year-old enjoyed a rich vein of form at the West Midlands club last season as he went on to produce a series of eye-catching displays from the right side of the Wolves attack. He has formed a good bond with Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez over the past 12 months which has translated to six goals and 12 assists from him in 54 matches for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in multiple competitions.
Traore has even found a run of consistency with his all-around contributions down the right flank after averaging 0.9 tackles, 1.1 shots, 1.1 key passes and 4.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League. However, his ball-distribution has sometimes let him down as the Spaniard could only complete 74.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
The former Aston Villa attacker has established himself as one of the top performers at the Molineux Stadium which has made him such a favourite among the Wolves supporters. Hence, it is quite a surprise to see the Midlands club entertain the possibility of his departure this summer.
What Does The Spanish Dribbler Bring To The Table?
Traore is one of the fastest players in European football and can be a devastating presence in the opposition half when he is running with the ball at breakneck speed. The Barcelona academy graduate has proven his worth as a decent assist-maker after creating some glorious chances to score for his teammates in the final third. He can also contribute by scoring his fair share of goals from the wide areas, but can sometimes be a bit of a hit and miss with his performances in the decisive end of the pitch.
Should Wolves Cash In On Traore This Summer?
Nuno Espirito Santo has currently got a plethora of attacking options in his squad with the likes of Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto stepping up and giving a good account of themselves in the absence of Jota, Jimenez or Traore last season.
Hence, if a big-money offer comes in for Traore, then Wolves would find it difficult not to consider the possibility of cashing in on their prized asset this summer. The West Midlands might choose to use the money generated from Traore’s potential sale to bring in a suitable replacement and strengthen other areas of their squad which makes his departure an attractive proposition for Nuno Espirito Santo to consider in this off-season.
