The Real Madrid forward has no future at Santiago Bernabeu after struggling with injuries and lack of game-time. A return to Spurs, therefore, could be on the horizon as Bale seeks to take the next step in his career.
An Upgrade Over Lucas Moura?
The arrival of Bale at Tottenham should offer Mourinho with a selection dilemma in the wider attacking role. Although despite having so many options, it can be assumed that the Portuguese mastermind will deploy the Real Madrid star ahead of Lucas Moura on the flanks.
From a stylistic sense, Bale is an upgrade over his Brazilian counterpart as he has more pace, power and aggression. But more importantly, the 31-year-old can provide the productivity to the table for Spurs, which could be priceless, given how the club has appeared over-reliant on the services of Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane in recent years.
The offensive trifecta of Kane, Son and Bale are sure to add a spark in the Tottenham Hotspur ranks. At the same, it could bring forth the demise of Lucas, who could even be sold to fund a move for the Welshman, who does have extraordinarily high wage demands.
What’s Next For Ryan Sessegnon?
Unlike Ryan Sessegnon, Bale is not a long-term option for Tottenham. But, his potential arrival in north London should make life even more difficult for a player who is yet to live up to the expectations.
Indeed, Sessegnon’s spell at Spurs has mostly been marred by a series of unfortunate injuries. The addition of Bale, in that regard, should further reduce his chances of gaining a prominent role in the first-team. It is also unlikely that Mourinho would want to employ him as a left-wingback given the youngster’s lack of defensive skills.
It all points to a potential loan move away from north London. Leeds United or even going back to Fulham, might not be a bad move from Sessegnon’s perspective as he seeks to revive his career next season.

Bale never really managed to make a mark at Real Madrid under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane. However, there is no question regarding the fact that the Welshman was a perfect fit for his direct and fluid tactical game.
Same applies to Mourinho, whose defence-oriented counter-attacking system should tune in well with Bale’s pace and directness. Combined with the qualities of Son, the 31-year-old could, in fact, help Tottenham build a deadly offensive connection next season that is capable of competing with the very best, including Liverpool.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not the Lilywhites can manage to tackle their financial shortcomings and afford to sign the Real Madrid star, who could be an ideal catalyst to Mourinho’s regime at Spurs.
