Manchester United dished out a dominating display in their quarter-final match in the Europa League when they took on FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were in the thick of the action throughout the match, with a total of 17 shots fired at the Copenhagen goals, out of which 7 were on target. With no goals scored in the regulation time, it was Bruno Fernandes who converted from the spot to give his side the lead in the 95th minute of the match. It was enough for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to seal the victory as they went into the semifinal of the competition.
Here are the ratings of the Manchester United players in their win against FC Copenhagen.
Sergio Romero 7
A rather quiet night for the Manchester United goalkeeper as he was tested not even once throughout the match by the opposition forwards. A well deserved clean sheet on the night.
Aaron Wan Bissaka 7
Looked lethal whenever he went up the pitch with the ball. Did his defensive duties well too.
Harry Maguire 7.5
An impressive performance from the captain as he kept the opposition strikers at bay. Kept a cool head and made some important tackles.
Eric Bailly 7
He was equally impressive in his defensive duty alongside the skipper. Won a number of aerial duels throughout the match.
Brandon Williams 6
Looked a little bit on the backfoot in the initial stages of the match, but recovered well as time progressed.
Fred 7
Made some good interceptions in the middle of the pitch and won the ball quite a few times as well. Dispossessed the opposition players with well-timed tackles.
Paul Pogba 6.5
Played some pinpoint passes to set up his teammates in front of the goal. Lost the ball in the middle of the pitch a few times though.
Mason Greenwood 7
Kept making inroads into the opposition box since the start of the match. He was a constant threat from the right flank for the Copenhagen defenders.
Bruno Fernandes 8
Another scintillating performance from the Portuguese playmaker on a crucial night. Peppered the Copenhagen goalkeeper with a number of shots from distance, but had no luck finding the goal. Scored the winning penalty to seal the much-needed victory for his side.
Marcus Rashford 7
His mesmerising skills opened up spaces on a number of occasions. The Copenhagen defence was in absolute tatters in front of him.
Anthony Martial 7.5
Should have had his name on the scoresheet but for the brilliant saves from the Copenhagen goalie. Was brought down into the box in the 94th minute which led to the winning penalty for his side.
